Las Vegas Strip casinos currently host several long-running residencies, featuring classic rock and pop stars who continue extending their engagements whenever they get close to the end of their scheduled performances.
1970s pop superstar Barry Manilow, who has been performing in the International Theater at Westgate Las Vegas just off the Strip for over 20 years since February 2005, decided he never wanted to stop performing at the casino.
Manilow’s prolific schedule of shows allowed him in September 2023 to break Elvis Presley’s record of 636 sold-out shows at the Westgate, which had previously been the Las Vegas Hilton and International Hotel when Elvis performed.

Since Manilow was becoming a permanent fixture at the Westgate, in December 2024 he accepted a lifetime residency at the casino’s 1,582-seat International Theater.
Another legendary 1970s singer, Donny Osmond, has extended his Las Vegas Strip residency for 50 more shows in 2025 in Harrah’s Showroom at Caesars Entertainment’s Harrah’s Las Vegas.
Osmond, whose residency was set to end June 7, has added shows in August, September, October and November 2025.
Osmond’s residency began in August 2021 and has a limited number of tickets available for its previously scheduled shows.
Classic rock star Carlos Santana has headlined a long-running residency at MGM Resorts International’s (MGM)  House of Blues at Mandalay Bay since 2012, performing more than 300 shows to sold-out audiences.
Santana adds eight shows to residency
In November 2024, Santana extended his “An Intimate Evening with Santana: Greatest Hits Live” residency at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay for 16 shows in January, February and May, but had to cancel the January and February shows because of an injury.
Santana still has eight shows scheduled for May.
Classic Las Vegas singer Wayne Newton, who became a headliner for the first time in 1963 at the Flamingo on the Strip, opened his “Wayne: Up Close and Personal” residency at the Wayne Newton Theater in Bugsy’s Cabaret at the Flamingo in January 2022 and has extended the engagement through Dec. 31, 2025.
