Technology has never been so advanced, and although it’s a sign that humanity is evolving at an astonishing rate, it has made many highly dependent on these tools.
When search engines like Google emerged, it was unbelievable how fast a question could be answered and how much information could be found on a topic with the click of a button.

However, today’s AI-powered chatbots have made regular search engines look like archeological artifacts. Their ability to efficiently answer questions, pull resources, and compile short, summarized answers at record speed sounds almost fictional.
This invention has allowed people to complete tasks faster and more efficiently than ever. Although it has been a blessing to many, these tools have a dangerous side that many conveniently ignore.

Numerous artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots include Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Meta AI, and DeepSeek. Still, ChatGPT is undoubtedly one of the most well-known.
ChatGPT becomes people’s ‘right-hand man’
ChatGPT is an AI chatbot created by OpenAI that uses natural language processing patterns to generate almost human-like dialogue. This chatbot can complete various tasks, including searching for online information, answering questions, and generating content like text, pictures, and more.
As helpful as this innovative tool can be, it can also inadvertently spread misinformation, since there is no reassurance that ChatGPT’s answers are entirely accurate.
Because ChatGPT generates “original” content, it can also lead to plagiarism, reducing the need for critical thinking and creating a dependency on that content.

ChatGPT faces an unexpected blackout
ChatGPT has suffered a major outage worldwide since the morning of June 10. The system is down, and although OpenAI is working to fix this issue, no update has been given on when it will be back up.
When entering the ChatGPT website and asking questions, the system does not respond or load, and an error message appears on the screen for both the free and paid versions.

Some countries, such as Europe, have reported that the system is back up, but others, including the U.S., are still experiencing a blackout.
Open AI posted a status on its website: “We are seeing continued recovery across API and ChatGPT. We will provide further updates as progress is made.”
It’s very likely that within less than 24 hours, the system will be back and working like it once was, but this unexpected occurrence may teach a lesson to those who have become highly dependent on ChatGPT in their daily lives.
