The latest iteration of the Superman franchise comes to the big screen on July 11, 2025. Nicholas Hoult takes on the role of the iconic superhero’s archnemesis, Lex Luthor.

Nicholas Hoult was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, England on December 7, 1989. He started out as a child actor at around 5 years old on stage and television. Hoult gained global recognition for starring as an only child to a single mother played by Toni Collette, who befriends a privileged bachelor played by Hugh Grant in the 2002 film About a Boy.
He gained additional acclaim starring in the raunchy British teen dramedy, Skins, which premiered in 2007.

Hoult has starred in a number of popular films over the course of his career. He portrayed Beast in the popular X-Men film franchise, appearing in four movies from 2011 to 2019.

Hoult is an enthusiast of car and motorcycle racing, particularly Formula One and Grand Prix. In the past few years, He has been involved with Team Ferrari and graduated from its Corso Pilota driving school. In 2024, he won the time-lap segment of the Ferrari Club Challenge program in upstate New York.
In an Instagram post, Hoult said that since he was a child, he loved racing and grew up watching F1 with his father, who was a commercial pilot.
