Economic uncertainty and rising food prices caused by inflation have led to a significant slowdown in consumer spending. As a result, people are becoming more intentional and selective about how they spend their hard-earned money.

Companies across all industries have prioritized providing value to help customers navigate the struggling economy while continuing to sustain business growth by boosting sales.

To adapt, many food chains have launched value menus and special offerings to make it more enticing for consumers to purchase from their businesses rather than from the competition.

Major pizza chains hop on the value menu trend

Although fast-food chains have long been the leaders of value menus, pizza chains have started to join the trend.

Domino’s  (DMPZF)  returned its “Best Deal Ever” promotion this summer, offering customers any pizza with any toppings for $9.99.

Yum! Brands’  (YUM)  Pizza Hut continues to promote its “$7 Deal Lover’s” menu, featuring 17 items priced at $7 each when ordering two or more, and recently rolled out a new offer where customers can choose from four large pizzas for $12.99 each.

Since its inception in 1959, Little Caesars has built its branding on speed and affordability, famously offering its $5 “Hot-N-Ready” pizzas that became a staple for customers on a budget.

Although its prices have increased since then due to rising costs of ingredients, labor, and operations, Little Caesars remains one of the most affordable options in the pizza business.

However, the chain had never dabbled in value menu territory — until now.

Little Caesars launches its first-ever value menu

For the first time in its history, Little Caesars is joining the value menu trend by launching an entirely new offering called “More for $9.99.”

This latest release is the chain’s unique take on the classic value menu, which has been a key driver for many food chains, since it gives customers more food for their money. But unlike most, this one can feed a whole family.

“As the value leader in pizza, we don’t follow trends — we set them. Our new $9.99 menu is a bold move that delivers unbeatable variety and flavor at a price that speaks for itself,” said Little Caesars CMO Greg Hamilton in a press release.
