Pedro Pascal was born José Pedro Balmaceda Pascal in Santiago, Chile, on April 2, 1975. His parents were critics of the Pinochet regime, and the family gained political asylum in Denmark, where they moved when he was less than a year old. They later moved to the U.S. and eventually settled in California. He graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 1997, and soon afterward, he started his acting career with television roles.
