Las Vegas Strip casino signs country superstar residency again

Las Vegas hotel-casinos are seeking ways to attract more customers after a recent downturn resulted in fewer visitors.

Sin City had some mixed results in June as visitor volume declined 11.3% with over 3 million people visiting Las Vegas Valley, according to Las Vegas Visitors and Convention Authority, as reported by Fox5 KVVU-TV.

Vegas Strip gaming revenues increased

On the flipside, the good news for casinos was that total gaming win revenue on the Las Vegas Strip increased by 0.88% in June after four straight months of declines, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board‘s June 2025 Win Revenue Summary.

Las Vegas Strip casinos are busy ramping up headliner residencies hoping to attract more visitors to their hotels, casino floors, and showrooms, as these shows are popular with the 1,000s of music fans who attend these concerts each year.

Some of the big name performers who have recently ended residencies to make room for new ones have included hard rockers Scorpions at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and rockstar Lenny Kravitz at Park MGM’s Dolby Live, in August.

Superstar bands featured at Sphere Las Vegas

Sphere Las Vegas has hosted a lineup of superstar bands this year, including Dead & Co., Eagles, and Backstreet Boys. Both Eagles and Backstreet Boys will return for more shows this year.

The magical globe also featured its first country superstar when Kenny Chesney performed 15 shows in May and June 2025. Chesney says he will also return for more shows at Sphere.

The Las Vegas Strip has hosted several other country music superstars in its theaters, as well.

Country stars scheduled residencies

Among the big name country stars performing this year were Garth Brooks at Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Keith Urban at Fontainebleau’s BleauLive Theater, Carrie Underwood at the Resorts World Theater at Resorts World Las Vegas

Country superstar Blake Shelton opened his Ole Red honky tonk on the Strip in January 2024, and performed a sold-out, six-show residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in February 2025.
