Why we love this deal
When it comes to must-have clothing during the winter, sweaters are always at the top of the list. Not only do they keep us warm when the temperature dips way too low for our liking, but they’re a piece of apparel they can work as casual or formal ware — it just depends on how you dress it up or down. And while all our favorite stores have great options to choose from during one of the coldest months of the year, not all sweaters are created equal. What they’re made of makes a difference in warmth, comfort, feel, and in how they hold up after lots of repeated wear. Fabric makes a difference (just check out our breakdown comparing cotton to polyester), and while some higher-quality blends can be expensive, they don’t always have to be. In fact, Macy’s is selling a super plush cashmere sweater for a whopping 70% off.
The Charter Club Turtleneck Sweater, which usually sells for $159, is on sale for only $47 right now. You can save $112 and get a super plush sweater that’s far more comfortable than a standard polyester version to keep you cozy all winter long.

Why do shoppers love it?
Sweaters may all look the same, but they aren’t built that way. The biggest difference in design is the materials that they’re made out of. While traditional sweaters are usually made with natural fibers like wool, cotton, or cashmere, others are made with synthetic alternatives, like acrylics or polyester. And while there’s nothing wrong with synthetics — they’re often low cost, easy to care for, quick-drying — natural fibers like the cashmere this Charter Club turtleneck version is made with, are often softer, more breathable, incredibly warm but lightweight, and long-lasting. Oftentimes, those benefits come with a cost, but thanks to this great Macy’s sale, you can score those advantages for a fraction of the cost.
Made with 100% cashmere, this super soft turtleneck sweater is advertised as being “perfect for the coldest days.” Available in both regular and petite sizing, it’s designed to flatter all types of body frames and sizes, without being overly form fitting or oversized. The sweater is made with 2-ply yarn, which keeps it lightweight and flatter compared to a thicker, bulkier sweater. That said, although thinner, the yarn is still very warm, and its wake makes the sweater feel as luxurious and silky smooth as it does. The cuffs at the end of the sleeves have a ribbed design that matches the turtleneck neckline. Both areas are slightly more form fitting than the rest of the sweater to ensure that cold air doesn’t creep in and the warmth inside the sweater doesn’t creep out.
