You can now get married at a classic Disney ride

With Walt Disney bringing the vision of a theme park of his characters to life with the opening of Disneyland in July 1955, what would evolve into an international resort empire began with just 35 main rides and attractions.

Some of those classic rides still running today at both Disneyland in Anaheim and other parks in North America, Europe, and Asia include the “Mark Twain Riverboat,” “King Arthur Carousel,” and “Peter Pan’s Flight.” Other opening-day rides, such as the “Skyway” gondola ride and “Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride,” were eventually replaced by more modern experiences.

Another beloved attraction that first opened at Disneyland in California is “The Haunted Mansion.” Launched in Disneyland in 1969 and Florida’s Disney World in 1971, the slow-moving “doom buggy” ride takes visitors through winding hallways of an abandoned Antebellum-era mansion full of spooky pop-ups.

Disneyland “Haunted Mansion” ride can now be booked for weddings

The spooky theme without any major roller coaster-style thrills has made “The Haunted Mansion” a favorite for generations of both adults and children. The ride through the mansion’s halls ends with the now-iconic phrase “There’s no turning back now.”

The Disneyland ride has also undergone a major renovation that left it closed for more than six months before reopening for 2025.

For those who love the ride enough to pay up to $40,000 to reserve it for their big day, The Walt Disney Company now has some more good news: The spooky mansion will now be available to book as a wedding venue in the summer of 2026.

The ceremony, which would be organized by Disney Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons, would take place in the courtyard outside the mansion in the morning hours before the park opens to visitors.

To avoid the ceremony interfering with Disney running the ride, and to prevent disruption from parkgoers lining up, weddings will only be booked in the morning hours. The cost will range from $25,000 to $40,000, depending on the specific day, for a two-hour ceremony that can accommodate up to 25 guests.

“The Haunted Mansion” has been one of the most beloved Disneyland rides since its opening in 1969.

What a “Haunted Mansion” wedding costs and how to book it

The wedding package will include an officiant who will run the ceremony, some light decor, a photographer, and transportation to and from one of the Disney resort hotels. Bookings can now be made for dates in July 2026 and beyond.

“Couples today are looking for a destination wedding venue with unique storytelling so that it reflects their passions and interests,” Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons Marketing Director Korri McFann said in a statement. “Haunted Mansion has always been a fan favorite, and we’re delighted to bring their dream wedding to life!”

Travel news:

Fairy Tale Weddings And Honeymoons had already been selling wedding packages at the Magnolia Park Terrace that offers views of “The Haunted Mansion,” but this will be the first time that weddings can be hosted right in its courtyard.

This year, the wider Disney franchise has been making more of a push to bring in additional income from wedding and event ceremonies — in May 2026, it will also start hosting weddings at the Haunted Mansion Parlor aboard the Disney Destiny cruise ship.
