Why we love this deal
Nothing says springtime fun like the first sun-soaked barbecue of the year. If you want to make it the best cookout possible, then you need a proper grill. If you don’t already have one, then you’re in luck. Target has some of the best grills on the internet, and one of its most impressive dual propane and charcoal models is on sell for well over half off at the moment.
The Garden Grotto Dual Propane and Charcoal Grill is on sale for only $463, which is 55% off the original price of $1,040.

Why do shoppers love it?
Some people swear by their charcoal grilling techniques. Others prefer the speed and convenience of a propane grill. No matter your preference, you can have what you want with this grill. It offers a 229-square-inch charcoal grilling area and a 288-square-inch propane grilling area. Both sides also have similarly-sized warming areas. The propane side of the grill includes a hood-mounted thermometer, a side burner, and three adjustable burner control knobs.
While you might think that charcoal grilling is more basic, that doesn’t mean a charcoal grill is without its special feature. This one has an adjustable charcoal tray, an air vent, and a pushout excess charcoal tray. It’s incredibly easy to clean and maintain. Both sides of the grill have porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking areas, which are great for heat conduction and allows for perfect searing of meats. It would be nice if the grill included a smoker as well, but considering how versatile it already is, that ask might be a bridge too far.
The frame of the grill is made from sturdy and weather-resistant cast iron. It has four rotating casters to make it easy to move in a hurry, too. The overall dimensions of the grill are 61 inches long by 23 inches wide by 46 inches high. There is plenty of space underneath the gas grill side for a large propane tank, while the charcoal grill side has lots of space for general grill equipment storage. You’ll just need to consider that having a large propane tank and grilling equipment stored underneath could make the grill heavier than you may want when it’s time to move it.

Pros and cons of the Garden Grotto Dual Propane and Charcoal Grill
Pros
- Dual use: The grill has both a charcoal side and a propane side to give you endless cooking options.
- Portability: Four 360-degree casters make moving the grill easier.
- Storage: There is ample storage space for a propane tank and other grilling accoutrement under the grill.
- Temperature monitoring: Both sides of the lid have external thermometers to keep track of the internal temperature.
Cons
- No smoker: It would be convenient if the grill also included a smoker, though it’s not a huge complaint.
- Heavy weight: When the bottom storage cabinets are completely full, the grill might be difficult to move due to the extra weight.
Target shoppers were very excited about this grill. One buyer who called it “great,” also shared, “The nonstick grates make it simple to wipe off any leftover food…If you’re undecided between gas and charcoal…I highly recommend buying this grill.”
