As technology continues to decrease the need for secondary travel booking services and economic fluctuations cause many to watch their spending more carefully, the travel agency business faces real challenges.
The United Kingdom, a country that once had a very high number of travel agencies due to a strong travel culture and a national interest in organized tours, has acutely experienced the domino effect as booking businesses shut down.
British travel companies that have either entered insolvency or ceased operations entirely since the start of the year include Trav Expert, Groupia, Salamander Voyages, Travel Bespoke, Regen Central, Set Sail Cruises, Yourtravelshop.com, Ski Yodel, and TS Travels Group, among others.
Global Travel Partners suspends all booking services after entering liquidation
The latest name to join that list is Global Travel Partners. Registered in both London in the U.K. and Las Vegas in the U.S., the travel booking platform has just suspended all of its services after entering liquidation proceedings in the United Kingdom.
On its website, the company said it offered “end-to-end business travel planning” or corporate travel itineraries to different destinations across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa.

Global Travel Partners lists tech giants Samsung and Toshiba, as well as the airline American Airlines, among its clients. It also claims to have booked travel for more than 100,000 customers since it was established in September 2011.
“Our goal is to help you save money, simplify your travel experience, and make every journey as smooth and stress-free as possible so you can focus on what matters most closing deals, building business relationships, and growing your business while we handle the logistics,” Global Travel Partners wrote on its website.
While Global Travel Partners is a British travel agency, it also operated a registered office in Las Vegas.
