How much AMD stock does CEO Lisa Su actually own?

Lisa Su joined Advanced Micro Devices in 2012, and two years later she was appointed CEO. She helped turn the financially struggling fabless chipmaker around by focusing on artificial intelligence and data centers. Toward the later part of 2026, AMD’s market capitalization was nearing $1 trillion

Along the way, she was awarded large amounts of stock. Between her growing stake in the company (and its growing stock price), Su joined the ranks of tech CEO billionaires in 2024.

Here’s how many AMD shares Su owns, and how she accumulated her holdings.

How much of AMD does Lisa Su own?

Lisa Su owned 3.6 million shares, directly and indirectly via trusts, according to a September 2026 SEC filing. That equates to a 0.2% stake in the company. Those shares were valued at over $2 billion, as of a mid-October 2026 share price of around $562.23.

Lisa Su may also be the biggest individual shareholder of AMD, but it is hard to say for sure. There may be individual shareholders who own more than she does, but if so, their ownership is less than 5%, and as such, they aren’t required by SEC rules to disclose that information publicly.
