Why I love this deal

Marshall is a brand well-known for professional-grade audio equipment. Much of that reputation was built on the back of its well-respected amplifiers. However, I had never seen a set of Marshall headphones up close until my wife was gifted a pair. She let me borrow them just once, and I instantly bought another pair for myself. That’s the most immediate reaction I’ve ever had to personal audio equipment of any sort, before or since. Why it’s an audio essential

The first thing I noticed about the headphones when my wife showed me hers was the unique design. The earpieces are a little smaller than traditional over-ear headphones, and they’re square. They have a leather-like texture on the outer surface, matching that of the headband. The bright white Marshall script logo on each side screams, “I care about sound quality, and I want you to know it.” In a word, they’re cool. Just looking at them made me jealous, which led me to borrow them from her, and subsequently buy my own.

Once I got the headphones on and gave them a test drive, I was absolutely hooked. The second you turn them on, they let you know that you’re in for a treat. Once you hit the power button, a quick electric guitar riff plays to let you know the headphones are on and ready to party. It’s a fun homage to the brand’s rock and roll pedigree as an amplifier manufacturer to the world’s rock stars.

The ear pads are thick and billowy. Their smaller dimensions fit perfectly over my ears and create a nice seal to keep the sound in without making me feel disconnected from the outside world. While some may prefer “cans” that totally cover the ears, I find this smaller fit to be more practical. My wife and I have both owned these headphones for more than two years, and the ear pads still look almost new. There’s no flaking or receding to be seen.

Maybe most importantly, the sound quality is second to none. I have very diverse tastes in music, and the headphones somehow manage to sound like they were designed and calibrated specifically for whatever genre I happen to be listening to at the moment. The bass is low and booming, and the drivers never fall into the dreaded muffled vibration territory, even when the volume is increased.

Mids and highs are just as impressive, sounding crisp, yet never tinny. I own a few different styles of headphone, and these are my go-to for watching television and movies as well. I’ve found that they deliver the truest sound of any headphones, even when placed against high-end in-ear models.

The standard features that come with these headphones are truly something to behold. They have Bluetooth connectivity, an additional wired connection, an easy-to-use built-in joystick-style control, wireless charging, and a folding design that allows you to transport them just about anywhere easily. The headphones also come with a proprietary Marshall sound app that allows you to customize your experience to your personal needs.

While all of this makes the headphones worth buying at almost any price, what has truly astounded me (and my wife) about these headphones is the battery power. They’re advertised to have over 100 hours of wireless playtime, but I’ve found this to be an undersell. I use the headphones multiple times a day, every single day. I find myself legitimately not being able to remember the last time I plugged them in for a charge. I rarely go less than two weeks between charges with them, and remember, this is with regular daily use. I honestly don’t know how it’s possible, but I’m not complaining. That said, I’m a big fan of the wire that’s included with the set. On the rare occasions that I use the wire because I’m out of charge, I find the thick coiled wire to be a fun nod to Marshall’s guitar amplifier DNA. Some may not like how bulky the cord is, but for me, that simply highlights its quality.

Ergonomics: They have a smaller over-ear design does not cover the entire ear.
Portability: The coiled audio cord may be too bulky for some users’ liking.

I cannot recommend these amazing headphones enough. If/when they ever wear out (which doesn’t seem to be happening anytime soon) I plan to buy another pair immediately, and I’ll do so happily, no matter the price.
