AMD and Cerbras form a partnership that makes chips faster and more efficient.

AMD unveiled several AI-focused announcements aimed at strengthening its position in the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market.

  • AMD and Cerebras partner on AI inference: AMD announced a collaboration with Cerebras to deliver an ultra-low latency AI inference platform that combines AMD’s Helios GPU rack with Cerebras’ wafer-scale AI chip.
  • Cloud availability: The joint AMD-Cerebras AI inference solution is expected to be available through Cerebras Cloud in the second half of 2026.
  • Focus on faster AI inference: AMD CEO Lisa Su said the partnership is designed to provide high-speed AI inference through the Cerebras cloud service, targeting enterprise and hyperscale AI workloads.
  • Server CPU leadership claims: AMD said its new EPYC “Venice” server processor maintains a significant lead over Arm-based server chips and claimed the new EPYC delivers 20% higher performance than Nvidia’s CPU offering.
  • Production underway: AMD said the Venice processor is already in full production, with customer demand remaining strong.
  • Next milestone: Systems powered by the Venice processor are expected to begin shipping in the fourth quarter.

Bottom line: AMD continues to expand beyond GPUs by pairing its AI hardware with Cerebras’ inference technology while emphasizing the competitiveness of its next-generation EPYC server CPUs. The announcements reinforce AMD’s strategy of competing across the full AI stack—from training infrastructure to inference and enterprise data centers.

AMD shares are still down -3.06% at $535 but well off the low at $525.  Cerebra’s shares are up 4.03% at $218.

Technically, for AMD, the price decline has taken the price to the 100/200 hour MAs near $532. The current price is above that level at $535 but traded as low as $325 before the announcement.  Moving back above the 100 and 200 hour MA is positive/bullish despite the price being down today. If the price can stay above those MAs, the bias is still more bullish technically. The sellers also had their shot below the MAs and they missed.

For Cerebras, it has been working to recover after plunging from its post-IPO high of $386.34 to a low of $160.00 on June 24. From a technical perspective, the picture has improved. On Tuesday, the stock climbed back above both its 100-hour and 200-hour moving averages (blue and green lines) and successfully held support at the 200-hour MA near $202.47 during today’s session. The shares are currently trading around $217.48 well above the higher 200 hour MA. The next key upside target comes in near $245. A break above that level would strengthen the bullish technical outlook. On the downside, a move back below the 200-hour and 100-hour moving averages would weaken the recovery and shift the technical bias back in favor of the sellers

I understand charts and I believe the price is a reflection of all the news including the headlines above. The price tells the story.  IF the news is bullish, the price and tools applied to the chart should tell the bullish or bearish story. They also define risk and targets.  Being above the 100/200 hour MAs are bullish tilts for each of those stocks.

However, what if you also want to know what it all means?  So I asked AI, to explain the headlines as if I was a 3rd graders (10 year old).

Here is what it all means.

Imagine there are two kids who build really cool LEGO sets.

  • AMD makes really fast LEGO pieces (computer chips).
  • Cerebras makes one giant super LEGO piece that is really good at helping computers think.

Now they decide:

“Let’s build one really awesome LEGO machine together instead of building separate ones.”

Here’s what the announcements mean:

🤝 AMD + Cerebras are teaming up

Instead of competing, they’re working together.

  • AMD provides the powerful computers.
  • Cerebras provides the giant AI brain.
  • Together they hope AI answers questions much faster.

Think of it like:

  • AMD builds the race car 🚗
  • Cerebras builds the super engine 🏎️
  • Together they make an even faster race car.

⚡ “Ultra-low latency”

That’s a fancy way of saying:

The AI answers almost instantly.

Instead of waiting 5 seconds… …you might wait only 1 second.

Businesses love that.

☁️ Cerebras Cloud

Instead of buying this giant computer yourself…

Companies can rent it over the Internet, just like renting a movie instead of buying the DVD.

💪 AMD says its new EPYC chip is faster

AMD is also saying:

“Our newest server chip is stronger than the competition.”

They’re telling customers:

  • We beat Arm’s server chips.
  • We think we’re faster than Nvidia’s CPU.

It’s like Nike saying,

“Our new running shoe is faster than everyone else’s.”

🏭 “In full production”

That means

They’re already making lots of these chips.

It’s no longer just an idea.

📦 “Systems arrive in Q4”

People won’t have to wait long.

Computers using these new AMD chips should begin shipping later this year (Q4).

Why investors care

Investors hear this and think:

“If AMD builds faster AI computers, maybe more companies will buy them.”

More sales ➜ more profits ➜ potentially a higher stock price.

The simple takeaway

AMD is trying to become one of the biggest companies powering AI, not just by making chips, but by building an entire AI system with partners like Cerebras. If customers like it and buy it, that could be good news for AMD’s business

….and thank you AI, for bringing the language, back to my language.
