Over the last year, a number of British travel agencies in particular have had to either file for bankruptcy or close down operations entirely.
Great Little Escapes and Jetline both shut down operations within weeks of each other in the summer of 2025, while in November, Hampshire-based New Era Travel followed with a similar announcement that it was forced to liquidate. The company launched in 2022 and sold various tour packages to countries such as Spain, Australia, and the United States from smaller and regional U.K. cities.
In the early days of 2026, the British Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) confirmed that London-based Regen Central has also lost its license to operate as a tour company. The travel agency was founded in 2011 and sold flight-hotel packages to destinations including Dubai, Bali, and various cities in Thailand, among others.
Asiara Holidays stops trading, shuts down business
The latest news of a shutdown in the U.K. comes from travel agency Asiara Holidays, NationalWorld reported. Established in 2022 under the registered name Asiara UK, the company specialized in custom small-group tours to various Asian countries from its base in the eastern city of Ipswich.
According to the CAA, the agency operated as a franchise under the larger booking platform Protected Trust Services (PTS) and was formally dissolved on Jan. 13 before stepping down from trading as an Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing (ATOL) holder on Jan. 21.

The agency also operated under names including Haivenu Tours and maintained offices in several cities in Vietnam.
As of February 2026, the Asiara website remains up and advertises tours based around activities like birdwatching, cycling, and cuisine.
Asiara also offers customers a wide range of Asian countries in which they can build a custom itinerary — including popular holiday destinations such as Vietnam and Thailand, but also less-visited countries like Brunei, Mongolia, and Turkmenistan.

A CAA representative said that Asiara had wound down starting most new trips in the summer of 2025 but was still running a few tours in Vietnam at the time it announced that it was shutting down.
Those with booked trips or disrupted travel have been asked to contact PTS directly for their options.
Asiara sold tours to various Asian countries while also running offices in northern and southern Vietnam.
