Disney fans report waiting hours to get early access to new park

Built in 1992 as what was then the fourth resort under the Disney umbrella, Disneyland Paris is now in the final stages of reworking its Walt Disney Studios park into the Disney World of Adventure.

The second park, with lands such as Toon Studio and Toy Story Playland, was added to the wider Disney resort in the suburbs of Paris in 2002. As fans frequently complained that it was a less impressive version of the main Disneyland park, which featured many signature rides and Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, Disney decided to give the second park a major overhaul.

It now includes lands inspired by newer movies — Worlds of Pixar and Marvel Avengers Campus — as well as a central “Frozen” area and castle.

Parallel to the new world that opened in Disneyland Hong Kong in 2023, the latter “World of Frozen” will take guests through the Kingdom of Arandelle and eventually open up with a view of North Mountain, scaled by the heroine in the 2013 movie.

Who can get early access to the new Disney World of Adventure park in Paris?

With the opening date for the revamped park set for March 29, some hardcore Disney fans with annual passes can get early access throughout March.

As first reported by the DLP Report watchdog on X, those with the Disney Paris annual Gold Pass will get first entry on March 15.

Those with the Silver and Bronze tiers can book entry on March 18, 23, 24, or 25 for a sneak peek of the new park before it opens to the general public.

To secure entry on a given day, annual passholders need to book through their pass portal online. But as reported by some fans, the website crashed immediately after bookable slots opened up, and some had to wait several hours to get their slot.

With opening of new Disney Paris park looming, early access already sold out

“The official opening day of Disney Adventure World on March 29 has already sold out for regular day tickets, and all Annual Passholder booking slots are completely filled as well,” Alessia Dunn of Of The Magic outlet reports.

“This makes the preview events even more valuable for those who managed to secure reservations.”

Travel news:

Although the original Walt Disney Studios Park was designed in a moviemaking theme, the renovation will transition it into a series of “worlds” inspired by different movies and just one central passageway with historic movie theatres and moments from film history’s past.

“When it opened in 2002, the original idea driving the creation of the second park was to give guests a behind-the-scenes look into the making of movies, animated feature films and television shows,” Disney said in a press release when the renovation was first announced in 2024.

“The park concept has since evolved creatively to offer more immersive worlds, and in 2007 it embarked on an exciting expansion journey with the launch of multiple large-scale, immersive projects like ‘The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror,’ ‘Toy Story Playland,’ and ‘Ratatouille: The Adventure.'”
