Another retailer is liquidating
Brick-and-mortar retail staples in local malls have been winking out of sight over the past decade, making many question the future of chains that were once bustling with shoppers. From once-unstoppable fast fashion brand Forever21 to longtime staples like Lord and Taylor and Stein Mart, it seems none will be spared as more and more people turn to online shopping.
The latest retailer to join this lineup is Eddie Bauer, the outdoors brand originally founded in 1920 in Seattle. Now it’s preparing to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, per a report from Women’s Wear Daily, with plans to shutter around 200 stores in North America. What that means is that the chain will need to liquidate all its stock in those locations. While this is unfortunate news for Eddie Bauer fans, there is a small silver lining: if you want to get some great deals on Eddie Bauer apparel, check out the markdowns, which are up to 50% off.

While this button-down is available in five colors, the Cream Htr shade is the one that’s $30 off, which is a beautiful blend of cream, tan, and shades of blue.

The Essential Down Vest is packed with 550 Power Down and finished with moisture-resistant polyester. It has an interior chest pocket for items you want to keep close, as well as two zippered hand pockets. The fleece-lined collar is a nice extra touch to make sure your neck stays warm as well. Four colors are available, but the Storm (a deep gray) and the black are the two that are on sale.
