German inflation continues to remain a sticking point for the ECB as they pause through the summer. The latest core annual inflation reading was at 2.8% in May, with headline annual inflation seen at 2.1%. The latter is estimated to climb a little to 2.2% in June, reaffirming that the ECB still has work to do in bringing price pressures down in Europe’s largest economy.
