• With continued ceasefire violations, the US is harming the diplomatic process

The news from yesterday was that an Iranian drone shot down a US helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz. After which, the US moved to retaliate and hit 20 Iranian targets overnight in a three-stage strike. At the same time, Iran also launched an offensive in threatening US targets across the Gulf region.

As much as the US continues to maintain that they are “very close” to a deal, the reality of the situation begs to differ. An interesting statistic that cropped up overnight was that US president Trump has used the term “very close” or something similar to describe a deal with Iran nearly 40 times now. Yet, here we are.
