To Americans, there are three magical words you can utter to just about any of us that will immediately transform even the most stressed person into a gentler version of themselves.
Those wonderful words are “three-day weekend.”

This coming weekend is one of those rare times, thanks to the 4th of July, which falls on a Friday this year. That means Thursday, July 3, is the last day of the work week for many of us (sorry, retail workers — this may not include you).
Unlike Christmas and Thanksgiving, however, the 4th of July is one of those holidays where not everything closes up shop.

Most major retailers remain open, including Walmart, Target, Walgreens, and CVS — but it is worth noting that Costco is not open on the 4th of July, so save your warehouse shopping trip for another day.
If you have a hankering for waffle fries or that famous fried chicken sandwich from Chick-fil-A on July 4, however, you may want to check and make sure your local one is open first.
Is Chick-fil-A open on the 4th of July?
While Chick-fil-A is famous for remaining closed on Sundays, if you want to eat there on the 4th, the good news is that you can.
However, the official Chick-fil-A website does say that operating hours can vary by location, so you may want to call and check just to make sure your local one is open.
Chick-fil-A also offers catering and encourages customers to make use of it if they’re not in the mood to pull out the grill.
So if you are entertaining and want to make things simple, there’s nothing that says “I love you” quite like a massive tray of chicken nuggets.
