Juneteenth celebrates the end of slavery in the U.S. on June 19, 1865. The anniversary became a federal holiday in 2021 and offers an important opportunity to honor African American heritage.
The holiday falls on a Thursday this year, so although it won’t create a three-day weekend, many will still have a chance to mark this historic day.

With so many activities happening on Juneteenth, cooking a meal is the last thing on people’s minds.
Fortunately for McDonald’s fans, the fast-food giant takes no breaks. It’s open on federal holidays and will be operating on Juneteenth.

After all, McDonald’s (MCD) prides itself on being one of the largest fast-food chains worldwide and hasn’t managed to expand its footprint to over 43,000 restaurants in more than 100 countries for no reason.
Store hours may vary by location, and to avoid disappointment, guests can check the McDonald’s official website to ensure their nearest location is open.
