The 4th of July is a popular day for picnics, BBQs, and parties of all kinds. Since the 4th of July falls on a Friday this year, it also provides a three-day weekend to those who have the day off from work.
This means that it can be a chance to get away. In fact, AAA reports it’s going to be one of the busiest travel days of the entire year, with an estimated 72.2 million Americans expected to travel within the country on the Independence Day holiday.

Is Target open on Independence Day?
There’s good news if you need a few more items for your Independence Day celebration. Target, along with many other major retailers, is in fact open on the 4th of July.
Although Target does generally close on major holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, the 4th of July is not one of those days when the retailer keeps its doors shut, despite the fact that many people have the day off.

Not only is Target typically open on the 4th of July, but most stores also operate normal hours. This means you should not need to worry about arriving at Target too early or too late and finding that the store has already shut down operations for the night.
You can always call your local store, just to be sure
Since Target is not planning on closing on the 4th of July, you should feel pretty confident in knowing that you will be able to get what you need with a visit to the big-box store.

Still, for added peace of mind before making a store visit, there’s no harm done if you make a quick phone call before you jump in your car for a Target run.
