Superstar country and rock stars have already closed Las Vegas Strip casino residencies this year, and more are coming.

Country superstar Brad Paisley closed his “One Man Six Strings” residency at the Wynn Las Vegas Encore Theater on May 10 just before launching his new “Truck Still Works World Tour.”

Paisley opened his “One Man Six Strings” acoustic residency with five shows Oct. 18-19 and Dec. 6-8, 2024, at the Encore. He also performed at the Encore Theater for acoustic shows April 14-15, 2023, as well as two shows each at the Encore in November 2022, March 2022, and June 2021.

Based on Paisley’s past appearances at Encore Theater over the last four years, fans can expect him to return in future years.

Another country superstar, Carrie Underwood, ended her long-running “Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency” shows at the Resorts World Theater at Resorts World Las Vegas after 71 shows, finishing on April 12.

Resorts World has no performances scheduled until Janet Jackson returns in September, as the casino resort is currently redesigning the theater’s seating arrangement.

Residencies close on the Strip

The World’s Greatest Party Band The B-52s closed its Love Shack residency at the Venetian Theater at The Venetian Las Vegas on April 19, after being forced to cancel its April 16 show as singer Cindy Wilson was unable to perform with a case of the flu.

Pop singer Josh Groban wrapped up his five-show exclusive Gems residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, also on May 17. Groban called his Gems residency at the Colosseum “my first ever Exclusive Las Vegas Engagement” on his Facebook post.

The “You Raise Me Up” singer’s residency promotes the release of his “Gems” retrospective album, including his biggest hit songs.

Red Rocker Sammy Hagar also closed his nine-show The Best of All Worlds Tour – The Residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM on May 17, performing solo hits like “I Can’t Drive 55;” Van Halen hits like “Right Now” and “Why Can’t This Be Love;” the Waboritas classic “Mas Tequila.”

Finally, hard rock superstar band Joan Jett & the Blackhearts close their popular residency at the House of Blues at MGM Resorts International’s Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino Las Vegas with two final shows on June 20-21.

The “I Love Rock ‘N Roll” singer wraps up her first-ever Las Vegas Strip residency, which ran June 13, 14, 18, 20, and 21, before headlining four shows in Canada and the U.S., and then joining Billy Idol on his “It’s a Nice Day To…Tour Again” tour beginning in August.

Jett launched her career in 1975 with the groundbreaking all-women’s band The Runaways, whose top hit “Cherry Bomb” didn’t break through to the Billboard Top 100, but was popular in Australia and Japan.

The Runaways lasted only about three years, but inspired other all-women bands, such as The Go-Go’s and the Bangles.

After The Runaways broke up following a New Year’s Eve concert in 1978 at the Cow Palace near San Francisco, Jett went off to form Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, which had commercial success in the 1980s with “I Love Rock ‘N Roll”, “I Hate Myself For Loving You,” and “Bad Reputation.”

Joan Jett has been a dedicated rock star, having performed shows or toured every year since 1979, including three concerts in the Covid-19 pandemic year of 2020 — one before and two after the start of the pandemic, according to Setlist.FM.
