Dead & Company, which features original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane, launched its Dead Forever residency on May 16, 2024, for 30 sold-out shows, which ended on Aug. 10, 2024.
The band returned on March 20, 2025, for 18 more shows, which concluded on May 17, 2025. Dead & Company currently holds the record for the most performances of any artist at Sphere with 48 residency shows.
Sphere hosts music superstar residencies
Iconic rock band Eagles followed Dead & Company with the launch of its Sphere residency on Sept. 20, 2024, and has extended the engagement to 44 shows with the last scheduled show on Nov. 8, 2025.
Sphere’s management has said Eagles can perform in the venue as long as they wish. The band has not revealed when it is ending its residency, but you can expect Eagles to continue their residency in 2026 and break Dead & Company’s record.
Popular superstar 1990s boy band The Backstreet Boys opened its 21-show “Into the Millennium” residency at Sphere on July 11 and will continue performing until Aug. 24, 2025, which the band has said will be their last show in the engagement.
Country superstar singer Kenny Chesney, who opened his residency on May 22, 2025, closed his groundbreaking 15-show Sphere Las Vegas residency on June 21 with a message to his fans that he will be returning to the spectacular music venue in summer 2026.
The one unusual engagement was a short residency featuring popular jam band Phish performing four sold-out shows April 18-21, 2024.
In most cases, bands performing at Sphere extend their engagements to 20 or more shows. In the case of Phish, the band arrived for shows on four straight days on April 18-21, 2024, and never returned.
Sphere and Phish have not said whether the band will return for another engagement at the venue.

The band released the first single off the album, “I Ain’t Worried About It,” in June and released a second single from the album, “Let It Run,” featuring Snoop Dogg, on July 18.
“Bringing our new album Love & Fear to Sphere in Las Vegas is a dream come true,” Zac Brown said. “It’s my masterpiece so far. This show is the story of my life that I have never shared, a journey through my imagination, music and stories that have defined who I am.
“All of this brought to life in the incredible immersive environment of Sphere. It will be a unique experience where you can really feel every note, every word, right there with us. We can’t wait to share it with the fans,” Brown said.
