Although Oreo is mainly known for its original chocolate wafer with vanilla creme, it has launched multiple offerings, with some becoming permanent additions, others being seasonal regulars, and a few getting completely discontinued.

There are various factors Oreo takes into account when choosing which flavors to make, keep, and discontinue. However, sometimes the reason is entirely unknown, especially when a flavor is so beloved.

Oreo brings back a beloved seasonal flavor due to popular demand

Oreo, owned by Mondelez International  (MDLZ) , first launched the Blueberry Pie Oreo cookie in June 2016 as a limited edition flavor and, due to its popularity, re-released it in 2017.

The Blueberry Pie Oreo features blueberry creme sandwiched between two graham cracker-flavored cookies.

Although a success among fans, the cookie giant discontinued this flavor after it was last made available to the public, never to be seen again on grocery store shelves.

However, eight years later, Oreo had a sudden change of heart.

Due to popular demand, Oreo is returning the fan-favorite Blueberry Pie Oreo cookie.

The Blueberry Pie Oreo will be available for a limited time on July 7 at grocery stores nationwide. For those who registered, the pre-sale begins June 30.
