Along with the 12 theme parks spread across four countries, the Disney umbrella also has more than 30 branded hotels for those who want to take their magical experience beyond the park gates.
One such hotel is Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, designed to look like a New England sailing club but actually located in the area housing several resorts between Disney World’s Epcot and Hollywood Studios.
Opening its doors in 1990, the Yacht Club Resort has three on-site restaurants that take the yacht and sailing theme further: the Ale & Compass Restaurant, the Yachtsman Steakhouse, and the Crew’s Cup Lounge, alongside an Ale & Compass Market with some grab-and-go food options.

The lounge is designed as a pub with a menu of hearty bar snacks in the evening, while the Yachtsman Steakhouse is a New American restaurant with a selection of butcher’s cuts and meat and seafood entrees.
The latter requires a reservation, although the lounge is open to guests passing through the resort area who may get a hankering for a drink.

Both restaurants are, however, preparing to close their doors for renovations and refurbishments to modernize their 1990s design.
The Crew’s Cup Lounge will be the first to close its doors on Feb. 23. As soon as those renovations are complete for what is now slated to be May 2026, the Yachtsman Steakhouse will shut down for its own renovation until August.
The Yachstman Steakhouse is a restaurant in the Disney Yacht Club Resort.

“Maintenance will affect views throughout the resort and at times require alternate paths of travel”
“Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is undergoing exterior maintenance through late 2026, which will affect views throughout the resort and, at times, require alternate paths of travel,” Disney writes of the plans on the website for the restaurant and the resort.
“In addition, Yachtsman Steakhouse will close in May 2026 for a refresh, with reopening expected by August 2026, and Crew’s Cup Lounge will close February 23, 2026, with reopening expected in May 2026. Guests may see or hear daytime work until the refurbishment is complete.”

The Ale & Compass Restaurant and the Market offering casual food options will be the only dining establishments open at the hotel throughout the spring.
The Yachtsman Steakhouse had last undergone a renovation in 2021, when Disney added more explicitly nautical touches such as windows that resemble ship portholes and chandeliers that look like lanterns.
Another Disney restaurant that is currently closed for an extensive renovation is Annette’s Diner in Disneyland Paris. The restaurant, designed in the style of a classic 1950s American diner, has served American-inspired dishes such as chili hot dogs and hamburgers since the European park first opened in 1992.
What has remained one of the resort’s most popular dining establishments has been closed since January 2026 for a refurbishment. The modernization will retain the diner’s retro vibe with a neon front door and bright pink booths that evoke 1950s-era car seats. A reopening date has not yet been shared.
